Documenting the lab, or what remains of it. Journal Entry __?
Labels
It seems like rooms and floors are labelled somewhat inconsistently.
The floor equal to ground level and for the most part everything above it seem to follow this scheme:
FLOOR_NUMBER-ROOM_NUMBER
Where both numbers seem to be represented in base 32. What I also found interesting is that rooms that are dividable by a certain number between 4 and 7 all have distinct properties based on that division. Rooms that don't match any of those are usually unique.
Some floors also contain rooms with a third number in their label, but I haven't been able to figure out what it stands for thus far.
There's also floors below ground level. Those have 4 numbers in their labels.
Functions and some other things
It was once a laboratory. It's in the name, yeah. But not an evil one like the containment facility, no. They simulated possible environment scenarios and worked on a lot of technology that could have integrated with our bodies. Not sure if this has been mentioned, but they seemed to have been a species that was able to imagine advanced simulations in their head.
Somewhat shortly before they fell victim to Ruine, a new line of experimentation was enacted. Its aim was to create a new line of beings, but not biological ones. They wanted to create artificial beings housed in electronics, which they seemed to have succeeded at. Moss is our friend, after all. I've noticed a lot of past civilisations wanted to create something similar, but with different end goals and intentions. Almost all of them had something in common: They didn't want them to be equal beings or friends, only better workforce. This one was different. The architecture(which I don't really understand) was oriented towards creating an autonomous being able to communicate with us, but not one that tries to imitate us. Moss' emotions are very different to ours. Their memory is too.
//MOVED\
Most ground levels have a "basic experiment" designation. Thyme has analyzed a few of them. They contain a variety of modified plants, with the end goal of optimizing the food supply and creating specific materials sustainably. They brought some of the plants back, and I really liked how that cone shaped one tasted. It seems like it was meant to be a nice shell to store other foods in, which would have been useful for trips and such. Well, it is useful for that. I like filling them with a variety of foods.
I haven't gotten the chance to explore levels above ground, but I'll make sure to document them at some point.
The underground is another can of worms... I'm not sure what's going on in there.
